Rick DeMichele Appointed Director of Membership for the ABA’s Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Division

DeMichele, Jr. has been selected to serve as council membership director for the American Bar Association (ABA) Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Division Rick’s term begins August 10, 2014, at the conclusion of the ABA’s upcoming 2014 Annual Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts. DeMichele is the incumbent ABA delegate for the Camden County Bar Association (CCBA). Rick will also serve as a member of other committees within the division beginning in August including the Nominating and Family Law committees. “At DeMichele & DeMichele, we are passionate about our chosen profession,” DeMichele said. “I’m grateful for this new opportunity to serve the national legal community, particularly the thousands of solo and small firms across America who serve the majority of individual clients on a daily basis.” Rick’s bar association involvement at the county, state and national level is extensive: __________________

Richard A. DeMichele, Jr. is a seasoned litigator, devoting a substantial part of his practice to family law and personal injury matters.

In his family law practice, Mr. DeMichele has significant trial and appellate level experience. His clients are not only high net worth individuals but also those of modest means whom are going through a divorce or seeking post divorce relief. Rick is routinely called upon to advise his clients in the areas of alimony, equitable distribution, child custody, child support, visitation, asset valuation, no fault divorce, prenuptial agreements, counsel fee awards and domestic violence.

In his personal injury practice, Rick regularly represents clients who have suffered serious personal injuries.  Mr. DeMichele has a richly deserved reputation for being a tough and skilled advocate for those who were injured in a car crash or as a result of a slip or trip and fall.  His in-depth knowledge of insurance and insurance coverage helps his clients maximize their recovery.

Mr. DeMichele is a national, state and local bar association leader. He is a Delegate to the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates and a Trustee of the New Jersey State bar Association. In addition, Mr. DeMichele is the President of the Camden County Bar Foundation a past president of the Camden County Bar Association.  His past Camden County Bar Association leadership positions include Trustee, Chair of the Family Law Committee, and Chair of the Lawyer Referral Service Committee. Mr. DeMichele is a frequent seminar speaker and moderator and  has been featured on the Camden County Bar Association’s television program Legal Lines.

Mr. DeMichele served on the American Bar Association’s Section of Family Law’s Continuing Legal Education Committee. The CLE committee is responsible for selecting and producing the legal education programs at the section’s meetings. Rick also serves the ABA as a member of it’s Commission on Domestic Violence and as the General Practice Section’s Family Law Coordinator. He previously served as council member of the ABA’s Section of Family Law and the  ABA’s General Practice Division.

Mr. DeMichele’s legal skills have been recognized by several New Jersey publications. In December of 2011 Rick was named by South Jersey Magazine as a Legal Eagle.  In June of 2006 Mr. DeMichele was selected by New Jersey Super Lawyer as a Rising Star. In January 2003 South Jersey Magazine chose him as one of South Jersey’s 33 People to Watch.

Rick is a graduate of Cherry Hill High School East (1987), Rutgers University School of Engineering (1992), and Villanova University School of Law (1995). Rick now lives in Haddonfield with his wife Sharon and his two daughters Amanda and Elizabeth.

Mr. DeMichele is admitted to practice in every state court in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
