Pending Storm Causes Court Closing

Storm Brings First Court Closure For 2015

According to the judiciary's website – New Jersey state courts and state judiciary offices will be closed Tuesday, January 27, 2015. All state court proceedings are canceled. In addition, in Camden County, late night reporting for probation at the Cherry Hill Campus Has been canceled. However, probation offices will remain open until 4:30 pm. The central office, including all clerk's offices located in the Hughes Justice Complex in Trenton, will close at 2 p.m. today.  The judiciary has also decided to close the following county courthouses today at 2PM:

  1. Morris County
  2. Sussex County
  3. Somerset County
  4. Hunterdon County
  5. Warren County
  6. Union County
  7. Essex County
  8. Passaic County

The Bergen County Courthouse and the U.S. District Court in Camden will close today at 3 PM. Will continue to update the weather closing situation.  You can also check the New Jersey Court website for more weather related closing information. The public and litigants should be aware that the order closing the courts does not apply to the Municipal Courts in New Jersey.  Municipal courts must make their own determination whether to close or remain open.  If you have a matter pending in municipal court today or tomorrow you should contact the court and confirm whether the court is open or closed. At this time, we are unaware of any municipal court that is Closed. We will continue to update this list as we learn more information.  Please call and confirm your specific court.
